SOMA Neighborhood Cleanup

Category   SOMA Community

On Sunday, March 27th, SOMA West CBD joined our neighbors at SF Parks Alliance, TogetherSF, and local community members for the first of hopefully many neighborhood cleanup days! We had a great turnout and were blown away by the dedication and positivity from the SOMA and neighboring communities. Neighborhood residents, organizations, and even folks from other parts of the city showed up to help with the cleanup effort.

We enjoyed the sunshine, made new friends, cleaned up the neighborhood, and gained a new appreciation for the ambassadors who do this in SOMA West every single day. We worked with SOMA West CBD supervisor Ed Moore to help us with bulkier garbage items and bigger messes.

Volunteers were split up into pairs, and each group was tasked with covering a block in the neighborhood. We had our work cut out for us! In total, 96 gallons of trash were removed from the neighborhood.

A huge thanks to the community members and neighborhood partners at SF Parks Alliance, TogetherSF, and the Shine On SF program for helping organize and sponsor this event!
